Meet my mom, Ruthi.  I am one of her 4 children.  Ruthi was an active, fun-loving woman who loved to dance, travel and was very interested in Archaeology.  She loved politics and was charitable.

Ruthi was born in 1923 and was officially diagnosed with Alzheimer’s at 79.  My siblings and I noticed signs of the disease several years before, which she denied and we overlooked.  As time went on these signs became more prevalent, and slowly she began slipping away from us. Looking back, there were so many things that I wanted to ask her about but it became too late too soon. We witnessed her struggle for 10 years before she passed in 2013.

On the 5th anniversary of Ruthi’s passing, my FB Memory Challenge is to help us become aware of the memories that we each cherish…. like my mom had before she lost her ability to remember.

After researching, I chose to help Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to funding research with the highest probability of preventing, slowing, or reversing Alzheimer’s disease. They have a 4-star, 100% rating on Charity Navigator and 100% of all donations go directly to research.

Please donate to this vital cause and help to find a cure! Thank you.
