Matthew Szulik is the retired Chairman and CEO of Red Hat, the leading global supplier of Linux and open source software. He was instrumental in growing Red Hat from a 40-person company into a 3,000-person technology giant. Mr. Szulik is the former Chairman of the State of North Carolina Science and Technology Board for Economic Development. Now, as chairman of The Szulik Family Foundation, he focuses on providing educational scholarships to first generation American students in the United States.
Over his career, Szulik has been recognized by CIO Magazine with its 20/20 Vision Award, named one of the 50 Most Powerful People in Networking by Network World and Technologist of the Decade by Computer Review. He is also an inductee into the World Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.
