Why, as a society, are we so willing to allow memory to fade?
Why do we believe that losing our memory is a normal part of aging and not worth fighting for?
As we grow older, we have much to share. A secret family recipe. A holiday tradition. Stories that go back generations.
We have the wisdom to pass down memories that allow for the good history to be repeated – and not the bad.
With age, we have the benefit of knowing what is of value, and what is superfluous.
Our memories allow us to share our beliefs. And Folklore. The stories of the world.
And, our memories put the future in the right and glorious context of history.
Without memory, aren’t we doomed to repeat our failures?
Without memory, what happens to civilization?
Without memory, isn’t our history just the past?
