Norma Sanchez, 88, of Clearwater, FL, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2021, surrounded by her immediate family. Norma was born in Tampa, FL to Ramon and Irma Gonzalez. She graduated from the University of Florida, where she served as president of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and was a lifelong Gator fan. She married Bonifacio (Bonny) A. Sanchez on July 9, 1955, and they spent 66 years together. Norma was an avid sports fan and rarely missed a Gator game – or a tailgate. She also loved quilting, reading, and crossword puzzles. She and Bonny enjoyed traveling and made many wonderful memories around the world with family and friends.
Norma loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Bonifacio, brother Ray (Norma) Gonzalez, daughters Joan (Don) Carter and Chris Sanchez, son Larry (Kim) Sanchez, grandchildren Brian and Michael (Kyndall) Carter, Jennifer (Atlas) Lake, Jacqueline (Randall) McClarity and Amanda Sanchez, and great-grandchildren Ethan, Bryson, Logan, Sofia, and Benjamin as well as an extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Herminia (Irma) Gonzalez. Norma was a member of St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in Clearwater. private memorial service will be held at a later date.
