Margaret E. Barendregt – Kiwiet died peacefully in Dallas, TX on Monday, July 12, 2021. Margaret Elisabeth was born on June 5th, 1927 to Eefje Louw and Andries Pieter Barendregt, a Baptist minister in Harlingen, The Netherlands. Margaret married the love of her life John J. Kiwiet in 1951 and immigrated to the United States with their five children in 1962. Margaret was an active member of University Baptist Church, and later Broadway Baptist both in Fort Worth, TX. After the passing of her husband in 2006, Margaret moved to Dallas TX, and became a member at Wilshire Baptist Church. Her life’s story from pre-world war II Europe to Fort Worth Texas is the subject of the book “Margaret’s Music”. A strong believer in the Christian message, Margaret lived her life with the guiding principles of faith, hope, and love. Her favorite passage was Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Margaret will be dearly missed by friends and family. She is survived by one sister, five children, 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. Celebration of life will be held on Monday, July 26 at 10:30 am at Wilshire Baptist Church (4316 Abrams Rd, Dallas, TX 75214).
