2024 Jeffrey L. Morby Prize for Exceptional Research

David M. Holtzman, M.D., and postdoctoral research fellow Xiaoying Chen, Ph.D., from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, were awarded the inaugural Jeffrey L. Morby Prize for Exceptional Research. Selected by their peers for their paper “Microglia-Mediated T Cell Infiltration Drives Neurodegeneration in Tauopathy,” published in Nature in March 2023, the award recognizes the impact Holtzman and Chen’s work on adaptive immunity has on advancing the fundamental understanding of Alzheimer’s disease.

The award’s financial support will enable Dr. Holtzman’s lab to investigate novel and innovative areas in Alzheimer’s disease research.
