Jane Judith Wells, nee Goelz, born April 5,1933, to William and Julie Pfeiffer, peacefully passed away December 28, 2025, at her home.
Jane is survived by her children, Julie (Jim) Durkin, Jeanette (William) Reckert, Jennifer Chaplin, Glenn (Patricia) Goelz, and Jeffrey (Julie) Goelz; her grandchildren, James (Dawn), Sr., James Durkin, Jr., Eric (Ashley), Camdyn Durkin, Kristopher (Christa), Miles Durkin, Taylor (Zachary) Kaleta, Logan (Stephanie) Reckert, Allison Chaplin, Thomas Chaplin, Brooke Goelz, and Jac Goelz; and Werner Goelz, former husband and father of her children. Jane was preceded in death by husband Albert S. Wells and sister Elizabeth Johnson (Jarvis).
Jane’s dream was to become a nun; however, she chose to marry and have a family, becoming a loving mother of five children. She received a full scholarship to the Art Institute of Chicago, was actively involved in the Catholic Church, was a proud member of the German singing club, and worked at the North Shore Country Club for 25 years, where she was loved by all!
Mom’s favorite activities / hobbies were fishing, boating, swimming, love of the outdoors and animals, and creating beautiful handmade crafts for her family. Our mom also loved being with family and friends and cooking for all of them.
The family would like to thank Sunrise of Buffalo Grove and Guardian Hospice for the care and compassion they showed for our beloved mother.
