When Mike Napoli learned that his friend’s mother had been diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease at age 50, he wanted to do something to help comfort the family and raise awareness about the disease.
Since his friend’s mom, Marcia Stanford, was an avid runner and fitness instructor, Mike felt that organizing a running and walking event to benefit Cure Alzheimer’s Fund would be the ideal way to honor her and raise money for Alzheimer’s Disease research. Last June, the first Branchburg Race Against Alzheimer’s 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk raised over $58,900 for Cure Alzheimer’s Fund.
The second Branchburg Race Against Alzheimer’s 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will take place on May 18, 2014. For more information, please visit the event website at www.branchburgraa.wix.com/bburgraceagainstalz.
