Cynthia Louise Eiring, 74, of Malone, Wisconsin, passed away February 1st, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Sindee, as she was known by most, was born on June 7, 1950 to Alfred (Fritz) and Marian (nee Kohlman) Schmitz in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. She grew up in Mt. Calvary, attending Holy Cross Catholic School and graduating from New Holstein High School in 1968. She later went on to study Surgical Technology at Moraine Park Technical College, which she loved and always described as her favorite job.
After graduating from high school, Sindee married Thomas Eiring of St. Cloud, Wisconsin and quickly began raising a family while serving her nation as a military spouse. Tom enlisted in the Air Force and their first son, Chadwick, was born in 1969 while they were stationed in Colorado. Their son Troy was born in Chilton in 1971 while Tom was overseas supporting the Vietnam War and daughter, Ellyssa, was born in 1974 in Fond du Lac after Tom’s honorable discharge.
Her family remembers her beaming smile and laughter that often filled the room. She encouraged others to honor their true self and enjoy life even when it was difficult. Sindee enjoyed all music, but especially live music. She loved dancing and singing or tapping to a tune through her final days. It’s not a surprise that a favorite quote of hers was, “Sing like no one is listening, love like you’ve never been hurt, dance like no one is watching, and live like it is heaven on earth.”
Family was Sindee’s top priority, spending much of her time with her many siblings, her children, and grandchildren. Sindee gave everything, and more, to her family. She offered herself as an influential role model and caretaker to her grandchildren, teaching them to swim, playing games, baking their favorite recipes while they licked spoons, painting and crafting, and gathering leaves while on a stroll through the Kettle Moraine forests. Her love and dedication to her family was unquestionable!
Sindee enjoyed spending her time outdoors. When her children were young, she was often camping with family, spending time at a beach, or finding the beauty in nature. She was an avid walker and enjoyed cross country skiing, especially with her Dad, on one of the many trails in the Kettle Moraine State Forest.
Sindee was a skilled artist, painting and creating memorable crafts through her lifetime. She hand painted her first car “Daisy” completely covered in daisies. She loved that car, no other could ever replace it. Unfortunately, Alzheimer’s brought an untimely end to her ability to do so many of the activities she cherished. She is loved and missed incredibly by all within her extended family to include her soul mate, Mr. Michael Roehrig (Malone). Mike was the love of her life and dedicated partner for the past 13 years. Mike was known as the “Saint of Adelaide” (the memory care center Sindee was in since April of 2024). Mike visited Sindee almost every morning to share breakfast with his “Sweetie” as he called her.
Sindee was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Barbara (William) Wasmer, her son, Troy, and her granddaughter Shayla. She is survived by her brothers, Alfred (Jeanne Velie), Patrick (Sharon), and Michael (Lisa Wodach) and her sisters, Karen Mengel, Mary (Butch Gudex) Meisenberg, Angelle (David) Onsrud, Denise (James) Hess, Bernadette (Douglas) Campbell and Anne, two children, Chadwick and Ellyssa, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
The family expresses our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the staff of Frontida Adelaide Place and Vitas Healthcare Hospice Services, in particular mom’s RN, Sara. We are so grateful for your amazing support as we went through this journey together. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
The family requests that in lieu of gifts, donations be made to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund through the link below so they may continue to seek treatment for this horrific disease. The immediate family will held a Celebration of LIfe event June 21st of 2025. Please send an email to Chadwick or Ellyssa at [email protected] if you’d like to be included in the invitation for her Celebration.
