Milvia Ramona Moreno

Milvia Ramona Moreno was born on August 31, 1941, in Gaspar, Cuba. The youngest of 6 children, Milvia was the life of the party from the day she was born. She grew up in a small community in rural Cuba, constantly surrounded by family.

Milvia married her husband of 54 years, Jose Manuel, in 1963 in Cuba. In 1968, they took the Freedom Flights to America, leaving behind family and everything they knew with their eldest child, Jose Julian, to start a new life in Port Chester, New York.

Some of Milvia’s favorite things in life were fashion, dancing, and hosting parties. After relocating to New York, she became an entrepreneur, selling clothes and makeup out of her home while raising her children.

In 1984, the family had the opportunity to relocate to what was, at the time, a very rural part of Florida known as Kissimmee. There, they built their American dream home, which Milvia designed on a diner napkin. Milvia and Jose lived the remainder of their lives in the home they loved so much.

In 2022, Milvia was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. After a four year battle, she passed away on March 3, 2026.
Milvia leaves behind her loving children, Jose Julian and Milvia Estela, a son in law, Rob, two grandchildren, Robert and Milvia Elizabeth, and two beloved granddogs, Gaspar and Rommy.
