Krista L. Moulder, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Neurology and Executive Director of the Charles F. & Joanne Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (Knight ADRC) at Washington University School of Medicine.  Dr. Moulder obtained her BA in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Cell Biology from Northwestern University in 1993, and her Ph.D. in Molecular Cell Biology from Washington University in 2001.  Her research interests have included neuronal cell death, neurodegenerative cell signaling pathways, electrophysiology, and glutamatergic and GABAergic hippocampal neurotransmission.  Dr. Moulder has authored 34 peer-reviewed publications and has a current H-index of 25.  Dr. Moulder is a member of the Society for Neuroscience.

In 2001, Dr. Moulder departed bench science to join the Knight ADRC Administration Core.  In this role, she oversees two Program Project Grants as well as the ADRC P50 Center Grant under the Directorship of Dr. John C. Morris.  She recently completed a three-year term as an elected member of the Administrators’ Steering Committee for all 31 National Institute on Aging-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Centers.  She also led a study on lumbar puncture practices across these Centers, which was published in 2017.

In service to Washington University, Dr. Moulder lectures for the medical students’ Principles of Pharmacology course, and guest lectures for Psychiatry residents and Physical Therapy students.  She also is a full board member of the Institutional Review Board.
