Massachusetts General Hospital’s Alzheimer’s Clinical and Translational Research Unit


Dr. Marc Weinberg, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified psychiatrist, memory disorders clinician, and Principal Investigator at the Massachusetts General Hospital’s Alzheimer’s Clinical and Translational Research Unit. He currently co-leads a vaccine-based trial seeking to retrain the human immune system to prevent and treat Alzheimer’s Disease. Marc’s continued goals are to provide patient- and family-centered care for Alzheimer’s disease, starting with prevention and improving diagnostic and treatment options at all stages of this disease.

Dr. Weinberg received his MD with Alpha Omega Alpha honors from the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill and completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital serving as Geriatric Psychiatry Chief Resident. Before medical school, he received his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado at Boulder in Behavior Neuroscience and Psychology and continued postdoctoral work in gene therapy at UNC, engineering Adeno-associated viral (AAV) vectors to function selectively in the central nervous system.
