Plasma Proteins, Sex and Alzheimer’s Disease: Proteome-Wide Analyses of the UK Biobank and Framingham Heart Study

2024

Women have been noted to be at the epicenter of the Alzheimer’s disease (AD) epidemic since they account for roughly two-thirds of AD patients in the US and the majority of caregivers. This proposal examines two large population studies, the UK Biobank and the Framingham Heart Study, to identify factors that may underlie gender and sex differences in AD risk and progression.
