Richard T. Kane, born November 22, 1939, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Nutley, New Jersey, but spent the majority of his adult life in Wayne, New Jersey, until he moved to South Florida in 1999.
Richard was the beloved husband of Florence, his wife of 62 wonderful years, and together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and family. He was a proud father to Donna, Robert (wife Terry), and Lisa (husband Doug). Nothing brought him greater joy than his role as grandfather to Jennifer (husband Michael), Jaclyn, Kaitlyn (wife Jady), Trevor, Cassidy, and Austin; and great-grandfather to his cherished great-grandson, Calvin.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Wasp, a chapter of his life he held with honor and pride. Following his service, he became a successful business owner, founding and operating Cedar Grove Transmissions, where his strong work ethic, integrity, and dedication earned him the respect of customers and colleagues alike. In his free time, he loved to fish, fly airplanes, and travel with his family.
Above all else, Richard was a steadfast, kind, and deeply loved family man. He was a loyal friend, a guiding presence, and a source of strength to those who knew him. His warmth, humor, and generosity will be remembered always. His faith was very important to him as well, as he rededicated his life to Jesus later in life. His family takes solace in knowing that he is in Heaven waiting for them.
Richard Kane will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
