A Win‑Win: Reduce Taxes While Advancing Alzheimer’s Research

You can help us fund research that will unravel the causes of Alzheimer’s, develop effective therapies, and find methods of prevention. Explore Gifts of Assets here.

Qualified Charitable Distribution

If you are age 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift from your IRA directly to Cure Alzheimer’s Fund. This qualified charitable distribution (QCD) can count toward your required minimum distribution and may help reduce your taxable income, even if you don’t itemize.

Don’t forget! Have you selected your beneficiaries? You can create a lasting legacy by naming CureAlz as a full or partial beneficiary of your IRA. Contact your plan administrator for details and a beneficiary form.

Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a simple way to organize and streamline your giving. It will allow you to contribute on your schedule and receive a charitable income tax deduction. You can use your DAF to make a one-time gift, or to create a recurring monthly or quarterly gift for even more impact.

Don’t overlook your DAF beneficiary designations. Take the next step in your Legacy plans by designating CureAlz as a full or partial beneficiary of your DAF. Contact your plan administrator for details and a beneficiary form.

Appreciated Securities

A gift of appreciated securities held for more than one year can be a tax efficient way to support CureAlz. By giving securities directly, you may receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock (up to a maximum of 30% of your adjusted gross income) and avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the value of the stock.

Another powerful way to use appreciated stock is by establishing a charitable gift annuity. This option provides a charitable income tax deduction, helps reduce or defer capital gains tax, and offers you a stream of fixed payments for life. Many donors choose to reinvest the income they receive, using cash to purchase new shares, allowing them to maintain their investment strategy while supporting groundbreaking research.
