On his 7-Summits Climb for Alzheimer’s, Alan Arnette has reached camp 4 in the South Col of Mt. Everest. He will be leaving for the summit very soon.
Alan recorded a radio disptach thanking Cure Alzheimer’s Fund and others including Janssen AI and Pfizer for their support. He also shared a story about his mother, noting that she was his family’s memory keeper. He recounted when his mother first showed symptoms of Alzheimer’s and how he watched helplessly as the disease progressed. Alan notes, “Tonight when I’m climbing Mt. Everest, the pain in my lungs and lack of oxygen will be much easier to take than the pain in my heart of my mom not recognizing me.”
