Sunset and the Mockingbird shares the powerful love story of Junior and Gloria Mance. After a lifetime as a jazz pianist and composer, Junior developed dementia. Having always been his full partner, Gloria became his caregiver–a new and challenging chapter in their shared story. The film is a moving reflection on how love and music endure and sustain us even on dementia’s cruel path.

Following a screening of the documentary, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund hosted a panel discussion with our CEO Meg Smith; Gloria Mance, the subject of the film; the film’s director, Jyllian Gunther; and Dr. Rudolph Tanzi, Alzheimer’s research expert and musician.
