I will depart for my July vacation and attempt to climb the Matterhorn. I have frequently been asked if I plan to post photo updates of my endeavor. Because of recent events related to my mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease and the feelings of helplessness associated with that, it occurred to me to dedicate my climb to my mother by creating a page where I can post photo updates and raise money and awareness for research.
My mother is one of 50 million people worldwide who suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease. It is the 6th leading cause of death in the US and 0% of people survive.
After much investigation, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund is the organization I elected to support as 100% of contributions go directly to research a cure. All operating expenses are paid by the Board of Directors. They are a 4-star charity on Charity Navigator.
