Angela Waite

Helen Angela Waite, 89, of San Francisco, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2021 at The Villas at Stanford Ranch in Rocklin, CA of Alzheimer’s and natural causes.

She was born August 24, 1932, in Weiser, Idaho to Wilford O. Peterson and Helen Leu Peterson. She attended Nyssa High School in Oregon, class of 1950. She enjoyed performing in several plays and participated in choir, orchestra, thespians, cheer and was voted most talented.

Angela was married to Leo E. Long in 1950 and together they raised four sons in Los Altos, CA. She was a phenomenal mother of her sons, Brian, Brent, Douglas and David and they were her pride and joy. She had a love of music and was an accomplished violinist. She had the opportunity to play at Stanford University and in Argentina, where she lived for four years. During her years in Los Altos, Angela and Leo were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints where she was a primary teacher, ward pianist and organist.

In 1985, Angela was married to Charles P. Waite. They loved to travel and some of their favorite places included England, France, St. Thomas, Pebble Beach, Boston and their farm in Vermont. They made their primary home in San Francisco and enjoyed going to the ballet and dining at fine restaurants.

In her professional life she was a successful Los Altos real estate agent working for August Associates, Barber Properties, and Cornish & Carey and was a member of the Million Dollar Club.

Angela is survived by her sons, Brian Long (Pennie), Brent Long, Douglas Long (Lisa), David Long (Karen); stepchildren Chad Waite (Susan), Patricia Bishop (Bruce), David Waite (Heather); sisters Adrienne Gifford, Elaine Anderson (Frank), Joy Christensen, sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie, sister Avon Anderson, stepdaughter Catherine Sullivan, and daughter in-law Mary Long.
