Frank Trutwin

Frank Joseph Trutwin, age 84, of Royalton, MN, passed away peacefully, after suffering with Alzheimer’s for many years, on August 24, 2025. Prior to Alzheimer’s, he lived a life full of laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Frank proudly served his country as an Air Force mechanic from 1959 to 1963. After his service, he worked as an electrician for Northern States Power for 33 years. His career reflected his hands-on skill and strong work ethic — he could fix just about anything and was always looking for creative ways to make things work more efficiently.

A true outdoorsman, Frank loved hunting, fishing, trapshooting, snowmobiling, golfing, boating, and traveling. He was known for his infectious laughter, love of life, and ability to have a good time. Whether it was an annual 4th of July party, a trip to Hawaii, or cruising on sailboats, motorcycles, or snowmobiles, Frank embraced every adventure. He especially treasured time spent with friends and family — at the bar, around the campfire, or at the card table.

Frank was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus and IBEW Local Union. He fed the birds, played games, and always found joy in the simple pleasures of life — especially when shared with others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, JoAnn Trutwin; his children Don Trutwin, Sandra Chanen (Jeff), John Trutwin (Julie), and Nancy Whiting (Steve); 12 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Christine Trutwin, his siblings Claude, Ione, Emil, Jeannette, Shirley, Patricia, Jeanne and grandson Chris.

Frank’s memory will live on in the many lives he touched with his warmth, humor, and generous spirit.
