Gail MacNamara

Carolyn “Gail” MacNamara passed peacefully in her home with her husband John MacNamara’s loving presence. They have had 65 wonderful years of marriage.  Gail went to be with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on July 8th, 2022. Gail was born November 19th, 1937 to Rex and Ethel VanMeter of Beaumont, Texas. She is survived by her adoring husband, John, daughters Pam Burton and her husband Brian, Janna Hogan and her husband Dennis; grandsons Chris Rieves and wife Lindsey with first great granddaughter Olivia Joy, David Burton, Matthew Burton, and Chase Hogan with wife Kayleigh.

Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and recently promoted to great grandmother. She volunteered through Camp Fire Girls, youth church groups, Strawberry Squares, and the Square Dance Council. Gail also enjoyed playing bridge, reading, talking on the phone, consuming chocolate and Coca-Cola and she relished the company of family and friends. She loved to plan activities and excursions for her girls, family, friends, and volunteer groups.

She stayed close to her old school friends, continued to make new ones and kept them throughout her life. Gail and John were long time members of various churches which included St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lakewood Church, and Faithbridge Church for the past fifteen years.
