Gary Marshal Sarver

Gary Marshal Sarver, 81, of Mooresville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. He was born on February 14, 1943, in Pana, Illinois, to the late Verlin Sarver and Becky (Allen) Chastain, and was raised alongside John Chastain.

Gary graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis with the class of 1961. He furthered his education at Butler University, where he earned an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering. Following a dedicated career spanning over 42 years, he retired in 1995 from Chrysler, where he served as an Industrial Electrician.

On August 1, 1964, Gary married the love of his life, Nancy Lee Fenter. Their union lasted over 59 years. In his leisure time, Gary enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator and was a licensed pilot who cherished flying airplanes. Additionally, he found joy in sailing.

Gary’s devotion to his family was unparalleled, and he will forever be cherished as a loving and caring husband, father, and grandpa. He often shared the saying, “you snooze, you lose,” imparting the importance of seizing opportunities and making the most of every day.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Sarver of Mooresville; sons, Gary (wife, Kavi) Sarver of Suwanee, Georgia, Tim (wife, Justina) Sarver of Mooresville; daughter, Beth (husband, Donald) Davis of Camby; and grandchildren, Jenna, Abby, Aly, Grant, Eric, and Ella. He was preceded in death by his parents, Verlin and Becky; John Chastain; and sisters, Karen Sarver and Sharon Sarver.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, April 11th, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Carlisle–Branson Funeral Service & Crematory in Mooresville. Gary’s Life Celebration® Service will commence at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 12th, at the funeral home, preceded by an hour of visiting. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield.
