Hemendra Mehta, 89, formerly of Elyria, Ohio, passed away in his home in Ashburn, Virginia on March 8, 2023. He was born in India on November 10, 1933 to Jamnadas and Kanta Mehta and immigrated to the United States with his wife and daughter in 1972. Dr. Mehta practiced medicine as part of the Elyria Medical Group and Elyria Memorial Hospital from 1972 to 2005 when he retired from caring for his patients to providing full-time care for his wife. Whether it was for his patients, for his family or within the broader community that he lived, Dr. Mehta was a tireless caregiver who gave selflessly to those around him. He was best known for his gentle hand, his warmth, his booming voice, his sage advice and of course his deep love of Cleveland sports teams, particularly the Cleveland Indians. Pre-deceased by his wife, Minaxi H Mehta, Dr. Mehta is survived by his two daughters, Kruti Mehta of Alexandria, Virginia and Shruti Mehta of Baltimore, Maryland.
