Lois H. Woodward

In loving memory of Lois H. Woodward

Lois Hutchinson Woodward, a beacon of love, warmth, and strength, passed away peacefully on March 30th 2024, at age 92.

Born on December 26, 1931, she grew up in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where small-town family values were instilled in her from an early age.  It was those early family values that were the foundation of her life.

As a mother and a wife, Lois poured her love and energy into nurturing her three boys and supporting her husband with unwavering dedication, boundless patience, and endless love.  Lois’ days were spent selflessly caring for her family, tending to their needs with love and devotion. From packing school lunches and attending soccer games to offering words of wisdom and encouragement, her love knew no bounds. She took pride in creating a safe and nurturing environment where her children and husband could thrive and grow.

Lois was also a cherished friend to many. As an avid and active stitcher, golfer and card maker, her warm smile, compassionate nature, and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. Lois had a gift for making others feel welcomed and loved, and her home was always open to family, friends, and neighbors.

Lois’ legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was married to Allyn for 60 years and leaves behind her three adoring sons Keith (Karen) of Durham, CT, Craig (Julia) of Wellesley, MA, and Mark (Gisele) of Daniel Island, SC.  Lois also leaves behind ten loving grandchildren (Caroline, Kristina, Tyler, Ashley, Jack, Alyssa, Allyson, Cooper, Summer, and Conner) with whom she found immeasurable joy in their company.

A celebration of Lois’ life will be held on Friday, April 5th at 11:00am at the Wellesley Village Congregational Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s at Cure Alzheimer’s Fund (click on the red button below).

As we bid farewell to the matriarch of our family, let us remember with gratitude for the profound impact she had on our lives. May her memory continue to inspire us, and may her spirit find eternal peace.
