Marsha Halperin Epstein

Marsha Halperin Epstein, 78, formerly of Newton, MA passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Stylish, colorful, charismatic, fun-loving, and silly, Marsha was known for her infectious energy, outgoing personality, and warm spirit. A self-described dreamer, she was curious about the world around her, always finding a way to learn about people and make true connections. Marsha loved music, singing, dancing, reading, and staying active. She adored telling stories through creative writing, and later found a passion for photography, which led her to make many new friends and have her work displayed in several gallery shows in Boston.

Marsha was born in New York City, and grew up in Harrison, NY. She graduated from Harrison High School and remained close with many of her classmates for decades. After completing undergraduate studies at Boston University and obtaining a master’s degree at Boston College, Marsha became a Sociology professor at Lasell Junior College, where she met her beloved husband of 42 years, Martin. They settled in Newton, MA, raising their two sons alongside their extended chosen family in the Newtonville neighborhood.

Marsha went on to found American Nanny Company, a preeminent Boston-based nanny placement agency which she ran for over 30 years. She took great pride in her work and the lasting bonds that she was able to facilitate for countless families and nannies over the years.

Survived by her loving family, son Peter Epstein and his wife Gaetane Michaux, her grandchildren Max and Luna Epstein, and her son Robert Epstein and his wife Heather Seeley. Marsha was also a cherished sister-in-law to Lucy Halperin, and devoted aunt to her nephews Ross, Robert, Kenneth, and Steven Halperin. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Martin Epstein, brother Richard Halperin, and parents Anne and Alvin Halperin. Services will be held at Sharon Gardens in Valhalla, NY Thursday, June 25 at 10am.
