Peggy Hill Clayton King, 83, daughter of D.W. Hill and Hattie Hill, passed away February 16, 2015 with her family by her side, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She is survived by her husband-Robert King; daughter-Carol Clayton Rynd & husband John; daughter-Susan Clayton Muegge; son-John Thomas “Tom” Clayton & wife, Laura; and eight wonderful grandchildren John, Clay, Kyle, Travis, Clark, Kelly, Lance and Jack. She is also survived by her two brothers Arch “Sonny” Hill and James E “Gene” Hill and her sister Loretta Bahner Johnson. She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister-Hilda Hodges and her first husband & father of her children, John Joseph Clayton.
Peggy was born in Tahlequah, OK and spent her childhood in Ardmore, OK, where she graduated from Ardmore High School. She is a graduate of Gulf Park College for Women where she made many lifelong friends. She married and moved to San Antonio where she raised her family and worked as office manager and paralegal secretary for the John J Clayton law firm. After retirement, she & John moved to Medina, TX and enjoyed life on the ranch. After she was widowed in 1988, she met Robert King and enjoyed a wonderful second marriage in Georgetown, TX. She was a loving wife and mother and we will hold our memories of her close to our heart.
