Venia Grogan Ambrose, 92, died Wednesday, June 18, 2014 in Jacksonville. Mrs. Ambrose was employed for 31 years with the Department of Defense, ending her career in Columbus, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Minnie Herron Grogan, and husbands, John Roy Chancellor and John Hanson Ambrose. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Chancellor Johnson, Southside, Alabama and Connie Chancellor-Stoner (Lynn Stoner), Jacksonville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Russell Yates (David) Bannon, Kristin Yates (Jarad) Cambron, and Lance Chancellor (Courtney) Stoner; great-grandchildren, Julian and Chance Latty, Caroline and Yates Bannon, Cayden Cambron, and Declan and Davis Stoner. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Moseley Cemetary in Jamestown, Alabama. Special thanks to the Atrium Assisted Living Facility and Vitas Hospice.
