Hyo Lee, Ph.D.

Postdoctoral Researcher, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai

Dr. Hyo Lee is a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Alison Goate in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS). She received her B.A. in Neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis and her Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Harvard University. Her doctoral research investigated the role of the Alzheimer’s disease risk gene SORL1 in regulating APOE levels selectively in neurons and examined the genetic and biological heterogeneity of astrocytes in Alzheimer’s disease using iPSC-derived astrocyte models. Her current work focuses on how genetic risk loci such as PICALM and EED influence endolysosomal trafficking and cellular pathways relevant to human iPSC-derived Alzheimer’s disease models.
