Investigator, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital
Dr. So Jeong Lee is an Investigator in the Department of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and the Athinoula A. Martinos Center for Biomedical Imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she started her research group in 2024. She also serves as Director of Probe Innovation in the Martinos Chemical Neuroscience Program. Dr. Lee was trained in chemistry and molecular imaging, and her research bridges basic science and clinical applications by visualizing and quantifying neurobiological processes in the living human brain. Her overarching goal is to inform new therapeutic strategies and contribute to improved public health. Her lab focuses on uncovering the cellular and molecular mechanisms of brain dysfunction using innovative molecular imaging approaches, including custom-designed molecular probes and multimodal imaging techniques. These tools are adaptable to a wide range of novel therapeutic targets. Currently, her work centers on validating new imaging targets using customized PET tracers to understand dynamic neurobiological nuances involved in brain homeostasis and disorders linked to neuroinflammation, such as Alzheimer’s disease.
