Dan Philyaw and Laurie Ann Taylor are looking forward to their wedding in March of 2025. In lieu of gifts, they would like guests to donate to a cause that is close to their heart, Alzheimer’s research.
Several of Dan’s family members, but particularly his grandmothers Shirley Graw (1928-2015) and Amy Philyaw (1933-2011), will be dearly missed at Dan and Laurie Ann’s wedding.
During his childhood, Dan always looked forward to weekends at Shirley’s (“Grams”) house, which nearly always featured a highly competitive game of Scrabble, side-splitting laughs, her famous tuna-noodle casserole, and the sounds of a symphony blaring from her Sony Boombox. Shirley loved music and would have been thrilled to hear Laurie Ann sing.
Sadly, Shirley’s loving spirit and personality began to fade away during her later years, as Alzheimer’s disease slowly took hold of her mind and memory. In honor of Shirley, and in the hope that future families will be able to reminisce on special memories (like weddings) together throughout their entire lifetimes, we invite you to donate to CureAlz in memory of Shirley by clicking the button below.
Please mention Laurie Ann and Dan’s Wedding in the comment section of your donation.
