Elia Carbonay Santeiro passed away in Tampa, Florida on May 19, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side. She was born in Havana, Cuba in 1936 and led a long and full life, parts of which could have made for an adventure movie and others for a romantic comedy. She was always full of life and was a very loving and giving person. Elia was predeceased by her loving mother and grandmother and by the love of her life, her husband Jorge, with whom we are sure she is reunited in heaven after many years apart. She leaves behind two sons and four beautiful grandchildren whom she doted on. She was loved and will be missed terribly.
