James R. Muir

James R. Muir “Jim” Spencerport

Jim, a beloved husband, father and papa passed away after a long illness on December 13, 2024 at age 81. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Jason Muir, Colleen (Steve) Stonehouse, Kyle Muir; grandsons, Brody and Dylan Stonehouse; sister, Edith (Mark) Wright; several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Jim was a Vietnam Veteran, a retiree of Kodak and a lifelong fan of the Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. He was a skilled golfer and a regular member of the Kodak Golf League. In retirement he joined the Southern Meadow’s League and one year even won the league Championship. He was his children’s #1 fan in everything they did- Baseball, Soccer, Dance, Football and Basketball. He coached both Spencerport Baseball and Ogden Bears Football. Jim never missed a game, concert or school event and carried this same devotion to following everything Brody and Dylan did. He loved his family unconditionally.

Throughout his many health challenges, Jim never complained, questioned “why me?” or gave up, which earned him the nickname of the Energizer Bunny. He fought fearlessly and tirelessly right up until the end. He showed us what it meant to have faith and courage in the face of all kinds of adversity.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jim’s name.
