Laurie Lipscomb Hamill was born on March 9, 1965, to Nathan Thornton Lipscomb and Martha Gadlage Lipscomb. She passed away peacefully at her home in Johns Creek, GA, on October 13, 2026.
Known to family and friends simply as Laurie, she was a beautiful, strong, and loving woman with a generous heart and a deep desire to help others. She brought strength, kindness, and genuine compassion to everything she did, leaving a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her.
Laurie devoted her career to caring for others as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), concluding her career at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Through her skill, dedication, and compassion, she made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless children and their families, providing comfort and reassurance during some of their most difficult moments.
Outside of her career, Laurie loved being outdoors and enjoying life’s adventures. Whether walking her dogs, hiking, swimming, or water skiing, she found joy in staying active and making the most of every opportunity to be outside.
Above all, Laurie’s greatest joy was her family. She shared 29 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Tim Hamill, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and treasured memories. She was a devoted mother to Thomas and Sophia, who were a constant source of love and pride in her life.
Laurie will be remembered for her strength, hard work, and determination, balanced by her ability to keep things fun and enjoy life along the way. She cared deeply for others and had a way of making those around her feel loved and supported. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Laurie is survived by her beloved husband, Tim Hamill; her children, Thomas (Isabel) Hamill and Sophia Hamill; her mother, Martha Lipscomb; and her sister, Suzanne (Scott) Russell.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Laurie’s honor on Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at:
