Marilyn Hanako Peterson, was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on 13 March 1922, to Tetsuhei and Yone (Akimoto) Ishimoto, and passed away peacefully on 1 June 2023. Marilyn was 101.
She was preceded in death by her husband George P. Peterson and son Christopher, four brothers (Tamotsu, Paul, Ricky and Arthur) and two sisters (Fumiko and Grace).
Marylin attended Maryknoll and St Francis High Schools and retired from Kuakini Hospital where she worked as a medical administrative assistant for 24 years.
Marylin is survived by her son Lieutenant General (Retired) Joseph F. H. Peterson and spouse Ann, two daughters Frances H. Peterson and Patrice Kaohi, two grandchildren Kevin G. H. Peterson and Hina Schipa-Chow and spouse Devon, and a great grandchild Kiele Chow.
A mass will be held at St Ann’s Catholic Church in Kaneohe, Oahu on 3 August 2023 to celebrate her life.
