Micki Souter passed away on June 16, 2024 at the age of 81. She was born in New Jersey to Frank and Catherine Bolton. The family moved to Pomona, CA when she was young. Micki attended Saint Joseph Catholic Elementary School in Pomona and graduated from Pomona Catholic High School in 1961. She met Richard (Dick) Souter at Claremont Savings and Loan and they married a year later on September 5, 1964. They had two daughters, Tracy and Erin.
Micki was a Registered Nurse working in Emergency Room Trauma Centers at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, Pomona Valley Hospital and retiring from Kaiser Hospital in Fontana in 1996. Being a caretaker was her passion.
Micki and Dick also owned Togo’s franchises in Upland and Rancho Cucamonga from 1985-1996.
Micki became a hospice volunteer shortly after losing her husband of 35 years. She provided respite and comfort care to terminally ill patients for almost 20 years.
The family moved often, living in many cities along the West Coast; Pomona, Mission Viejo, Upland, Spokane WA, San Jose and Trabuco Canyon. Micki made MANY wonderful life-long friends in every city along the way.
Micki was the planner of parties, organizer of gatherings and friend to everyone. Christmas just won’t be the same now without her amazing homemade fudge that she distributed to all of her friends and neighbors every year.
Micki’s greatest joys in her life were her 5 grandchildren; Kyle, Cole, Reagan, Blake and Reese. She attended every one of their school programs and sporting events. She loved them so much.
Micki is survived by her daughters; Tracy Smith (Scott) and Erin Lindsay (Channing), grandchildren; Kyle Smith (Penelope), Cole Lindsay (Rachel), Reagan Smith, Blake Lindsay and Reese Lindsay. She is also survived by her sister; Janet Flammang and nieces Lesley Williams and Jill Caballero.
