Dr. Anna Lisa Giuliani received her Bc.S. in Biology at the University of Ferrara in 1987. She, then, pursued her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the same University, with Prof. Serena Traniello, investigating the inflammatory and anti-cancer activity of human neutrophil granulocytes. In 1991, she started working as a graduated technician at the University of Ferrara and spent 6 months at the Hematology Clinic, St. Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College of London, working with Prof. Sunitha N. Wickramasinghe in the field of erythrocyte homeostasis. In 2001, she started working as Assistant Professor in General Pathology at the University of Ferrara with Prof. Gilberto Berti, and then with Prof. Francesco Di Virgilio. In 2021, she became Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology at the same University. Prof. Giuliani’s main interest is the study of the role of extracellular ATP and purinergic signaling in inflammatory diseases and in tumors.
