Joseph Zambelas

Doctoral Candidate, Houston Methodist, Weill Cornell Medicine

Joseph Zambelas is a graduate student in the inaugural class of the Weill Cornell/Houston Methodist Neuroscience Ph.D. program, mentored by Drs. Hong Zhao and Stephen T.C. Wong. His research integrates wet-lab and computational approaches to understand how systems-level processes drive neurodegeneration. He brings over five years of disease research experience in histological staining, high-resolution imaging, and omics analysis, including CosMx spatial transcriptomics and RNA-seq. With a foundation in mathematics and molecular biology, Joseph Zambelas aims to harness algorithms and machine learning to uncover mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease and identify new therapeutic opportunities.
