Assistant Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School; Massachusetts General Hospital
Dr. Bennett is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School where she leads a research group investigating mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease. Her work is aimed at understanding how abnormal build-up of tau protein in the brain leads to changes in the functions of both neuronal and vascular cells. To directly visualize pathological processes, her group uses methods including two-photon and light sheet microscopy, transcriptomics, and MR imaging. Prior to starting her own lab in 2021, she received her doctoral degree in neuroscience from Washington University in St. Louis in 2014 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in under the supervision of Dr. Bradley Hyman at the MassGeneral Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease.
