Carolyn Janson

Carolyn “Pinky” Barrineau Janson passed peacefully at Poet’s Walk memory care in Sarasota FL, on May 28, 2020 at the age of 91.
Carolyn is survived by her older sister Iris Iverson of Sarasota, children Connie Reed of Hockley, TX, Dr. Walter C. “Chuck” Janson Jr. (Laurie) of Sarasota, Donna Aber (Larry) of Woodstock, GA, Carol Smith (Ken) of Lakewood Ranch, FL, 7 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Walter C. Janson, Sr., and granddaughter Rachel Aber.
A descendant of some of the earliest settlers of Manatee County, FL, she was born in Oneco, FL, the second youngest of the 5 children of Ida (Helm) and William Lloyd Barrineau. She graduated from Sarasota High in 1947 and lived in Sarasota for her entire life.
She was known for her bright smile and witty sense of humor. In her youth, her favorite pastime was spending time at the beach with her friends. Carolyn loved to shop, garden, dance, and had a flair for decorating and fashion. She adored the little dogs she had throughout her life but, above all, she loved her family.
