Estelle S. Stockman

Estelle S. Stockman of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and East Greenwich, RI passed away on January 5th, 2021, peacefully in her sleep at the age of 90 in Rhode Island. Estelle spent many years on Cape Cod, most recently 25 years in East Falmouth, before moving full time to Palm Beach Gardens in 2018. Estelle was born in 1930 in Boston, MA, the middle daughter of Louis and Leah Siegel of Brookline, MA, originally from Shepatovka and Novgorod Russia, respectively.

Estelle was raised in Roxbury, MA, was a fine and accomplished student, graduated from Roxbury High School, Northeastern University and Portia Law School (now New England Law).

Estelle was an extremely dedicated mother, raising her three children in Newton, MA as well as an educator in Newton, MA Special Education Department, where she successfully developed and implemented the first dyslexic learning program for middle school children in the public school system.

Estelle was the loving wife of George L. Stockman, married in 1951 until his passing in 2002. Estelle is survived by her three children, Stephen of North Kingstown, RI, Michael of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Susanne of Sante Fe, NM; her daughters-in-law Jill Stockman and Donna Stockman; her sisters Barbara Goldberg of Needham, MA, Marsha Cohen of Peabody, MA; her five grandchildren, Julia Tassinari, Jenna Spicola, Danielle Stockman, Max Stockman and Zachary Stockman; and her four great-grandchildren Peter, Alex and Sydney Tassinari and Brooke Spicola. Estelle’s cooking and desert skills, passed down from her mother, were widely admired. Most important of all, Estelle’s deep love for her family and friends, curiosity, always sweet disposition, timely humor, and grace will live in our hearts as she touched so many and will be greatly missed.

A private service will be held at the Falmouth Jewish Cemetery, East Falmouth, MA where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, George, on January 12th, 2021.

A tribute to and celebration of Estelle’s life to follow in the summer of 2021.
