Judith “Judy” Ann Carrier, 80, of Hampshire, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, which was her 59th wedding anniversary.
She was born on June 29, 1945, in Rockford, IL, and she married the love of her life, William “Bill” Carrier, on September 24, 1966.
Judy’s calling in life was nursing. She worked at several hospitals throughout the US, before settling in at Northwest Community Hospital for the last several years of her career and retired at the age of 70 after 49 years in nursing. She was a devoted caregiver, and was able to form meaningful connections with patients and their families. Her sincere compassion and nurturing demeanor were especially comforting to those nearing the end of their lives. She was an extremely hard worker, and tried to make sure she never missed a day. In the few spare moments she could get, she loved to spend time with family and cats, especially her husband Bill. Judy also loved to spend time gardening and planting fresh flowers every spring. She leaves a legacy of love that will endure far beyond her years.
