Nicola Melillo

Nicola was born in Alvignano, province of Caserta, Italy on June 10, 1944.  He worked and owned a Café/Bar in Alvignano before immigrating to America in 1973.  He settled in Ravena with his wife Antonetta and son Angelo, later moving to Rotterdam with a newborn son John.  His family was complete.  Nicola along with his wife always had the love of garments; they owned and operated AJ Manufacturing, Eleganza Bridal and Broadway Tux.  It was in 1984 when Nicola began his career with the New York State Office of General Services and later the New York State Department of Transportation, until his retirement in 2007.  True to his Italian culture, Nicola was an amazing gardener, enjoyed making homemade wine, tomato sauce, and making memories with his grandchildren.

Nicola is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Antonetta (Sgueglia) Melillo, his sons, Angelo Melillo (Pina) of Rotterdam and John Melillo (Herminia) of Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Nicolas, Bianca, Noah and Faith Melillo and sisters Bernadina and Rosa Melillo of Alvignano, Italy.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.  He is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Giovanna Melillo, and his sister Rosinella.
