Tammy Awtry, Ph.D.

Science Communicator

Tammy joined Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in August of 2022 as a Science Communicator. Her job is to bridge the knowledge gap between scientists and those wanting to understand more about Alzheimer’s disease and the research being done by our funded scientists.

Tammy has a B.S. in Chemistry from The Stephen F. Austin State University, an M.A. in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from George Washington University.

Tammy lives with her husband and three teenagers in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In her spare time, she likes to earn degrees, read, knit, and play games.
