John Sondek, Ph.D. is Professor of Pharmacology and Biochemistry & Biophysics, member of the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, and Director of the UNC Center for Structural Biology. Dr. Sondek has published over 100 scientific articles and is co-inventor on 6 patents. In recognition of his research, he has received awards from the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation, the Pew Charitable Trusts, and most recently GlaxoSmithKline. He co-founded KXTbio, Inc. to develop new reagents and screening platforms for drug discovery and has previously collaborated with GlaxoSmithKline and AstraZeneca on high-throughput screens that target proteins that drive cancers. Dr. Sondek has trained 14 graduate students and 15 postdoctoral fellows and associates.
