2025
Andrew Yoo, Ph.D., and postdoctoral research fellow Zhao Sun, Ph.D., from the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, were awarded the 2025 Jeffrey L. Morby Prize for Exceptional Research. Selected by their peers for their paper “Dissecting Alzheimer’s Disease Phenotypes in Directly Reprogrammed Patient-Derived Neurons,” published in Science in August 2024, the award recognizes the impact of Yoo and Sun’s work in developing a novel approach for studying aging, enabling a wide range of studies dissecting the interactions of age and Alzheimer’s disease.
The award’s financial support will enable Dr. Yoo’s lab to conduct novel Alzheimer’s disease research and support Dr. Sun as he establishes his independent research lab at the University of Texas at Dallas.
