Dr. Lina C. Anderhalten is a physician-scientist and Junior Principal Investigator at the Experimental and Clinical Research Center (ECRC), Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, where she leads the MRI section within the Clinical Neuroimmunology Group of Prof. Friedemann Paul. She studied medicine at Charité in Berlin and at Università degli Studi di Firenze in Italy, and completed an MD/PhD in Experimental Neuroimmunology, supported by a German Hertie Foundation Scholarship. She graduated with highest distinction (summa cum laude), focusing her thesis on gadolinium retention and clearance in the rodent brain. Dr. Anderhalten combines clinical care of patients with multiple sclerosis and rare neuroimmunological disorders with translational neuroimaging research, is actively involved in investigational and observational single- and multicenter clinical trials, and has supervised doctoral and master’s students since 2020. She received an Early Career Internship Award from the Oxford Berlin Research Partnership for a translational research exchange on neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory mouse models. Most recently, she was granted a Walter Benjamin Fellowship, which received an outstanding evaluation.
