Dr. Sarah Hopp is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and the Biggs Institute for Alzheimer’s and Neurodegenerative Diseases at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. She received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Ohio State University and her B.S. in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from MIT. Prior to joining the Biggs Institute, Dr. Hopp received postdoctoral training from Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Currently, her lab focuses on understanding mechanisms of neurodegeneration in Alzheimer’s disease involving microglia and calcium channel blocking drugs.
