CureAlz Heroes: Champions for a Cure

Posted May 6, 2026

Somewhere this weekend, a ten-year-old is setting up a lemonade stand with a sign asking for donations instead of dollars. A couple is mailing invitations to an anniversary party where the only gift requested is a contribution to research. A high school cross-country team is running an extra mile for someone’s grandfather. None are scientists. All of them are helping to find a cure for Alzheimer’s.

CureAlz Heroes are individuals, families, and businesses who turn their passions into fundraisers for Alzheimer’s research.

Cure Alzheimer’s Fund has been the proud beneficiary of just about every type of fundraising event you can imagine. In New Jersey, the Whetton Family (pictured above) hosts backyard socials and tea parties to rally their community around a shared mission. In Ohio, our friends at Arthur Franchise Group ran a special campaign across their Taco Bell restaurants in support of Alzheimer’s research (Read more). Each Hero starts with something they already love and turns it into support for science.

Because 100% of general donations go directly to our research program, every dollar a CureAlz Hero raises advances science.

Alzheimer’s disease impacts millions of families, and the need for research has never been greater. Across every activity, passion, and interest, CureAlz Heroes are working to advance research that brings us closer to a cure.

Getting started is easy. All you need is an idea:

  • Run a race or participate in an athletic event.
  • Organize a pickleball tournament, golf outing, or community walk.
  • Host a dinner party or game night with friends.
  • Put together a concert or comedy show.
  • Start a gaming or streaming fundraiser.
  • Celebrate a birthday or milestone.

Turn your passion into progress. Together, let’s build a future without Alzheimer’s.
