Dr. Lea Tenenholz Grinberg is a neuropathologist at the Mayo Clinic Florida, whose laboratory investigates early mechanisms of Alzheimer’s disease, with emphasis on selective neuronal vulnerability and the sleep–wake circuits that shape symptoms and progression. She joined the Mayo Clinic in May 2025 after a successful career at UCSF, where she co-led major neurodegenerative brain banks and built internationally recognized programs connecting clinic, community, and discovery. At Mayo, she is modernizing the Neuroscience Department’s Brain Bank and expanding collaborative, ethical brain-donation initiatives that better represent diverse populations, including across Latin America. Dr. Grinberg has authored more than 370 peer-reviewed papers, was named a 2024 Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, and received the UNESCO–L’Oréal “For Women in Science” award.
