(Wellesley, MA) – May 31, 2016 – Cure Alzheimer’s Fund is announcing that Jeff Morby and Henry McCance have been named Co-Chairs of the Board of Directors. Jeff Morby has chaired the board since inception in 2004, and he, along with co-founders and directors Henry McCance, Phyllis Rappaport and Jacqueline Morby, have over time welcomed other members to the Board to join with them to provide outstanding leadership for funding innovative, breakthrough research to end Alzheimer’s disease.  Under their leadership, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund has distributed over $40 million to Alzheimer’s research and has over 23,000 donors. The organization is dedicated to providing grants to the world’s leading researchers to develop treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. Because the Board members of the foundation pay all of the operating costs, 100% of donations from third parties go directly to research.

“Because of our tremendous progress, Cure Alzheimer’s Fund has reached a level of activity and complexity, which requires that I have an outstanding partner to join with me in the Chairmanship role to be able to take full advantage of the excellent opportunities available to us for finding a cure. Henry is an extremely successful and competent person and has made a tremendous contribution to the foundation to date and has been my de-facto partner since inception. I am extremely pleased that he has agreed to serve with me in the Co-Chairman role,” said Morby.

Jeffrey Morby co-founded Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in 2004 and served as chairman of the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund Board of Directors from 2004 to 2016. Mr. Morby is retired Vice-Chairman of Mellon Financial Corporation, where he ran all wholesale activities, as well as serving as Chairman of Mellon Bank Europe.  He is currently Chairman of the Morby Family Charitable Foundation and a Council member of the World Wildlife Fund. He has an M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a B.S. in engineering from Stanford University.

Henry McCance co-founded Cure Alzheimer’s Fund in 2004. Mr. McCance is Chairman Emeritus of Greylock Partners, one of the nation’s oldest and most successful Venture Capital firms. He is a partner of Fenway Sports Group, which owns the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC, and a member of the Advisory Board of Yale School of Management.  He was formerly a Director of Cabot Corporation and member of the Yale Investment Committee. Henry graduated with an M.B.A. from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and from Yale University with a B.A. in economics.
